Tips
Tips for working with OSB
Leave an expansion gap on large areas
Wood moves. On walls and floors, leave a few millimetres of space between the boards and along the walls.
Always finish it for outdoor use
OSB 3 can handle moisture, but not prolonged exposure to the weather. Outdoors, the board must be finished or covered.
Pre-drill for screws
Always pre-drill screw holes in board material, especially close to the edge. This stops the core from splitting or breaking out.
Store flat
Store boards and cut parts flat and dry, raised off the floor on a few battens. That way they stay straight until you use them.

Also cut to size
What does OSB 3 mean?
OSB 3 is the class for load-bearing applications in humid conditions. The board can handle moisture, but outdoors it does need to be finished or protected.
What is the difference between square edge and tongue and groove?
A square-edged board has flat edges, which makes it easy to cut to size and work with. Tongue and groove is designed for slotting large floor or roof areas together seamlessly.
Can I paint OSB?
Yes, with a good primer. Because of the coarse texture, the strand pattern stays visible; for a smooth result, MDF is a better choice.
Can I also order full boards?
Yes, you can also add OSB to your cutting list as a full board.
How do I order OSB cut to size?
Choose the board and thickness, enter your net dimensions and quantities in the cutting list, and you'll instantly see the cutting layout and the price. Pay securely with iDEAL, Bancontact or credit card. The delivery time is approx. 2 weeks.
What are the minimum and maximum sizes?
Parts must be at least 25 mm, and the short side can be at most 1,500 mm. The maximum length is the length of the board.
